Risk Disclosure
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This Risk Disclosure Statement is provided by AutoTrade to ensure that all users and prospective subscribers fully understand the significant risks associated with cryptocurrency trading and the use of algorithmic trading strategies. Please read this document carefully before using the AutoTrade platform or subscribing to any plan.
Important Warning
Cryptocurrency trading involves a substantial risk of loss. You may lose all of the capital you invest. AutoTrade does not guarantee profits, and past performance is not indicative of future results. Only trade with money you can afford to lose entirely.
1. Volatility Risk
Cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile. The price of Bitcoin and other digital assets can fluctuate dramatically within minutes, hours, or days due to market sentiment, regulatory announcements, macroeconomic events, exchange outages, or large-order activity. These price swings can result in rapid and substantial losses that exceed your initial expectations. AutoTrade's algorithms are designed to manage volatility, but no strategy can eliminate this risk entirely.
2. Algorithmic and Technology Risk
AutoTrade uses automated algorithms to generate and execute trading signals. Algorithmic systems are subject to software bugs, logic errors, connectivity failures, exchange API outages, and latency issues that may cause trades to be missed, duplicated, or executed at unintended prices. Past backtested performance of any algorithm may not reflect live trading results due to differences in market conditions, slippage, and execution speed. AutoTrade does not guarantee that the algorithm will perform as expected under all market conditions.
3. Backtesting and Hypothetical Performance
Performance statistics displayed on the AutoTrade platform, including win rate, ROI, Sharpe ratio, and monthly returns, are derived from backtested and paper-trading data. Backtested results are hypothetical — they are calculated by applying a strategy to historical data and do not represent actual trades executed with real capital. Hypothetical results do not account for real-world factors such as exchange fees, slippage, partial fills, liquidity constraints, or the psychological impact of live trading. Actual results may differ materially from backtested figures.
4. Regulatory and Legal Risk
The regulatory environment for cryptocurrencies and algorithmic trading varies significantly across jurisdictions and is subject to rapid change. Governments may impose restrictions, bans, or new licensing requirements on cryptocurrency trading at any time. Changes in regulation could affect the legality of using AutoTrade in your jurisdiction, the availability of supported exchanges, or the tax treatment of your trading profits and losses. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of AutoTrade complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your country or region.
5. Exchange and Counterparty Risk
AutoTrade operates by sending trading signals to cryptocurrency exchanges via webhook or API integration. AutoTrade does not custody, hold, or control your funds at any time. Your capital remains on the exchange you choose to use. Cryptocurrency exchanges are not regulated in the same manner as traditional financial institutions and may be subject to hacking, insolvency, fraud, withdrawal freezes, or sudden closure. The loss of funds held on an exchange is beyond AutoTrade's control and responsibility.
6. Liquidity Risk
Cryptocurrency markets, particularly for altcoins and during periods of extreme volatility, may experience low liquidity. This can result in significant slippage — the difference between the expected price of a trade and the price at which it is actually executed. In illiquid conditions, it may be difficult or impossible to exit a position at a desired price, potentially amplifying losses beyond what the strategy's historical data would suggest.
7. Leverage and Margin Risk
If you choose to use leverage or margin trading on your exchange account in conjunction with AutoTrade signals, your risk of loss is significantly amplified. Leveraged positions can result in losses that exceed your initial deposit, and margin calls may force the liquidation of your positions at a loss. AutoTrade's default strategy parameters are designed for spot trading. The use of leverage is entirely at your own discretion and risk.
8. No Financial Advice
AutoTrade is a technology service provider only. We are not a registered investment adviser, financial planner, stockbroker, or fiduciary under any applicable law. Nothing on the AutoTrade platform — including strategy performance data, trading signals, blog posts, FAQs, or any communication from AutoTrade staff — constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You should consult a qualified financial adviser before making any investment decisions.
9. Tax Risk
Profits and losses from cryptocurrency trading may be subject to capital gains tax, income tax, or other taxes depending on your jurisdiction. Tax laws relating to cryptocurrency are evolving and may change without notice. AutoTrade does not provide tax advice and is not responsible for any tax liabilities you incur as a result of trading activity. You are solely responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes on your trading profits.
10. Operational and Human Error Risk
Errors in configuring your exchange API keys, webhook URLs, position sizes, or risk parameters may result in unintended trades or financial losses. You are responsible for correctly setting up and maintaining your exchange integration with AutoTrade. AutoTrade is not liable for losses resulting from misconfiguration, incorrect settings, or failure to monitor your account.
11. Past Performance Disclaimer
Any reference to historical performance, win rates, return figures, or strategy metrics on the AutoTrade platform is provided for informational purposes only. Past performance — whether backtested or live — is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Markets change, and strategies that have performed well historically may underperform or incur losses in the future. You should not make investment decisions based solely on historical performance data.

You confirm that you are aware of the risks involved in cryptocurrency trading and algorithmic strategies, and that you are trading with capital you can afford to lose.
